I haven't been to Warren AFB but I did live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for 3 years and I visited Cheyenne. I can at least tell you that it is a magnificent, scenic and beautiful area of the country. Wyoming is the 4th largest state with the smallest population...something like .5 people per square mile. Connecticut has 222 people per square mile to give you an idea of population density and traffic congestion.

The winters will get very cold there and it will snow several feet over the winter. But the thing you need to watch out for is the windchill factor. The wind blow out of the north from Canada and nothing blocks it until it leaves Wyoming.

If you like to camp, hike and do things out doors it should be a great time.

Sorry, that's all I have for you.

Francis E. Warren Air Force Base (IATA: FEW, ICAO: KFEW) is a base of the United States Air Force. It is part of the Cheyenne, Wyoming Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 U.S. Census, the base had a total population of 4,440. It is located 3 miles (5 km) west of central Cheyenne, Laramie County, Wyoming, United States of America and borders the town directly along the I-25 corridor. Headquarters for the Twentieth Air Force are located at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, and also the 90th Space Wing. The base's main focus is the operation of the LGM-30 Minuteman ICBM, with silos in Southeast Wyoming, Western Nebraska, and Northern Colorado.

The base was named for Francis E. Warren, one time governor of Wyoming. It was transferred to the Air Force by the Army in 1948.
