I have to summarize an article as part of a grade 11 Bio assignment, and here's a section in my article:

"Within five days of removing 20 percent of an adult zebra fish heart ventricle, undifferentiated progenitor cells begin to line the injured area and turn into cardiac muscle cells, which grow and divide, building new heart muscle"

I need to put this sentence into my own words, in pretty basic terms. So...I'm not exactly sure what this sentence even means...so if someone could explain it to me (since I'm Biology-Impared) then it would be a big help =)

"Within five days of removing 20 percent of an adult zebra fish heart ventricle, undifferentiated progenitor cells begin to line the injured area and turn into cardiac muscle cells, which grow and divide, building new heart muscle."

Basically, you remove 20% of the ventricle of the heart of this animal. A ventricle is like a room of the heart. So if you take away material from the heart, it becomes injured and has to heal.

"Undifferentiated progenitor cells" are something the zebra fish's body produces to regenerate its heart. "Undifferentiated" means it doesn't have a specific cell type; it's just a regular cell. It doesn't have a specific purpose yet. "Progenitor" means something that creates or gives birth to something else, so a "progenitor cell" is something that creates new tissue.

So, after cutting away 20% of this part of the heart, these generic cells line it like a band-aid or scab. They then turn into actual heart cells, grow and divide, and build new heart muscle. They're just replacing the removed tissue to heal the heart.

all you have to do is look for the meaning of "undifferentiated",and "progenitor cells." That's the only words there that are more scientific.

To give you an idea what "undifferentiated" means, well.. it means having no special structure or function.

Progenitor cells are precursor cells. They are cells from which other cells originate.

I hope this will help you...

i think of that the regulation would desire to require 2 self reliant psych evals formerly a juvenile would be tried as an person. the newborn with habit sickness many times develops delinquent character sickness (sociopaths and psychopaths). all of us understand that the male strategies would not attain adulthood till the age of 25; besides the fact that, we are all nevertheless responsible for what we do. And incarceration isn't only for punishment yet in addition to guard society. "wellbeing training" in colleges would desire to show psychological wellbeing as nicely as actual wellbeing. Then those pupils may well be lots extra probable to tell somebody only how dysfunctional their residences are and steps would be taken to furnish those childrens the help they p.c.. a super style of those childrens who get into difficulty are infants of alcoholics, drug addicts and/or are latch key childrens who have not all and sundry to respond to to. So the peer rigidity takes its toll. they're allowed to play violent video games wherein they kill human beings formerly they're even sufficiently previous to appreciate the taking of a existence. "relatives values" isn't approximately faith. this is approximately coaching ethics and integrity and the Golden Rule. So there's no uncomplicated answer to this situation. we've infants who, having been molested, have become pedophiles who're molesting different infants. So the treatment for societal ills starts off with society.

You have to put this sentence into your own words ... so you want someone else's words??

Nuh uh. The sentence is fairly self explanatory. Read it a few times, break it down and study it ... then write it in YOUR words.

It's very straight forward ... use your biology textbook or go online to get the definitions of the words you are unsure of and go from there.
