Ex always seems to be in our (8 yr)relationship, is he not over her although he seem to be in love with me, or does he just not want confrontation because him and the ex have a kid and a 12yr past

It can be both. Although a loved one hurts you suddenly, it is almost impossible to stop loving this person at that instant. Love does not work that way. It is common to hate what a loved one is doing or has done without hating the person.

Eight years is quite a while and the odds are its about the child. Just listen to your inner self and be aware. Rely on your instincts. Just dont do anything rash without tangible proof.

can't just hate someone even though they hurt u, he may just not want the confrontation with the ex, because of the child. but after 8 years into this relationship, and he still hasn't married u, he may not be over her yet, and at any time he could go back to her.

well........its hard not to care about someone u spent so much time with and there will always be something there unless it ended really really bad and then sometimes u still cant help but care. This is a matter of trust sounds like and I once heard that a person can earn only so much trust. You have to always give the last little bit as a gift. So good luck but be careful......

This is why when you get involved with a man who has a child with a woman there is always baggage. If you have been with guy for 8 years and are not married, my feeling is he is using your for comfortable companionship and sex. He will never be committed to you. Why waste another 8 minutes with him?

It really depends on the person. And the foundation of their relationship.
