I think it's a good thing. It's terrible to deny a woman motherhood just because she hasn't found the right man. She should be able to make her choice instead of being at the mercy of men who judge her as not pretty enough or thin enough or the right religion to marry. If you follow this link, this article even says that children raised by stable single mothers fare better than children raised in unstable marriages.

As one of those women who isn't pretty enough or think enough or the right religion to get married, I applaud the women who are taking control of their reproductive futures instead of waiting for some amorphous husband to arrive on the scene.

What do you think?

Its a very interesting concept .Yes, women can become very strong enough to raise a family by herself.Only if she can handle it. Its a VERY BIG RESPONSIBILITY raising children on her own.Not easy by ANY means..

Many women never find out until they have children and unfortunately are forced into"doing the best" they can, and find out how hard it is later. Choice will only become a luxury.

If you have a profession such as a Doctor or Lawyer, and can AFFORD hiring the extra help, or can depend on someone, you can still get by.. UNTIL then...., It MAY NOT BE possible to become an independent single parent.( DEPENDING ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES).Every picture tells a story.

If you aren't in those type of occupations, that prospers into good career.....,Well, you must rely on getting the extra help like from child support and maybe even welfare and still "doing the best you can..."

I think it's great so long as the woman can provide a stable home (particularly financially). Same as with a single man choosing to adopt a child.

I never ever look down at women who are not married and have children. We do not know their circumstances. I do believe though that a child should have a father and a mother in their lives. If a father is abusive, than i think they should be allowed to see their child though.

WHAT DO I THINK?

S A D !!!!!!!!

I believe that a child is best cared for by a mother & father. I would hope that this would be her choice/ his choice. This is NOT to say that there are many family situations who care wonderfully for the child.

I think... that women who are single mothers are strong and courageous.. but I think it's a sin for young girls who maybe don't have very much money just because they will have those struggles all their lives... but I don't think single mothers are any less capable at all. Props to them.

I think it is great for the mother, but would like the child to have a 'father' figure -uncle, brother, cousin, etc. to be there for them also. Important foundation for childhood.

You think this idea is new? Check history. there are plenty of women that have raised children on their own . Either by choice or the fortunes of war, rape, death of spouse, etc.

the only thing i can see here is that.. let's give each child the oppurtunity to live and grow with a father's love.
