People smoke eventhough they are aware their health goes down. Are people just addicted to it and can't stop? Or are they just selfish? People who smoke usually don't care if they die but how about the people around them? They're hurting everyone that they smoke around physically. Is it normal to feel sorry for the little children you see with their parents huffing and puffing on cigarettes? If smokers truely love their families and friends, tell me why most of them smoke in their faces?

I don't know, smoking is one of those things that you just do as a 'one-off' and then become addicted. It's like asking, "why do people gamble?" - it's an addiction and has almost the same effect of ruining the lives of other people, as smoking does. not all smokers smoke in the presence of their family, so while there are people that do, it's not our job to judge them. Smoking is proven to be one of the most difficult habits to kick, and while i do feel angry when I see a child or innocent person being exposed to second-hand smoke, I have to continue to remind myself that the people who do smoke are probably struggling to drop the habit. hope that helps!

I can only answer for myself. I choose to smoke. I know that on a sub-conscience level I do it mainly as a nervous habit, I have to have something to do with my hands. As for my family, I respect the decisions of others, there are many in my family who do not smoke. I smoke around those who are comfortable with it.

i do not smoke in my house or around my children. i smoke because i am stressed. whats so difficult to understand? at least i dont do drugs so lets be glad theres cigarettes. halija, thats an ignorant comment to say you hate people who smoke. grow up.

my dads a smoker he says its calms his nevers hes verry stressed i barely see him hes awsome he smokes cuz he likes 2 b nice not mean to any 1 the drug should b outlawed we only have it cuz the gov can tax it otherwise the goverment doesnt care

i think i also heard that most children that have been around smoking through their childhood are most likely to get ADD or ADHD. im not sure.. its supposed to be a stress releaver...

some do cause they r going throught depression and financail probs and **** like that andothers do casue they want to look cool.
i had to do an essay on that once upon a time.
