I think it is more that some women's perfumes smell like bug spray.

It probably scares it away so that it doesnt come back. They might not like the smell of perfume, or just of womens lol.

because bug spray is to keep bugs away and some womens perfumes are to keep certain annoying men away.

Perhaps it is added to cover up the unpleasant aroma of poisons in the bug spray. Or maybe you need to see different women.
