Go to your local salvation army. There they normally have toys to give out to children.
Otherwise St. vincent De Paul. Any places like that or churches recognize people who need help in the holiday season and get baskets together and Food, and gifts. Also I know the Walmart where we are has donations, you could contact one, and ask how to get information about it.

Sorry to hear about this, and as hard as it is, I hope your holidays are well.

* Also if you have been working alot before you had to stop check with a local unemployment agency to see about unemployment.

If you need any help to find places I would be more then happier to help you. You can e-mail me at kmjhwilliams@hotmail.com

Maybe if you sat the 16 year old down and explained to him/her the circumstances, they would understand. The 2 year old is too young to know what's going on either way so you don't have to worry about that part. I know as parents we want our children to have 'stuff' but if both parents are not working, it doesn't make sense to buy for the holidays and have bills and or rent/mortgage that needs to be paid....I will be praying for you and your family.

Amazon has great prices on a lot of new toys and free shipping on most. You have to buy over $25 worth of items though. It's the best site I've found so far as far as price goes.

If you attend church talk to your minister. Maybe members of your congregation could help out. Toys for tots is a good place to try, but not for the 16 year-old.

Contact the county that they live in to see if they have assistance programs for the holidays for displaced families. You could also contact the Salvation Army, Wal-Mart (the one here has two "giving trees" for needy kids), or your church.

You could call up one of the local radio stations and explain to them your problem and have them promote a fund raiser event or have them ask their listeners donations for your children.
