There are different versions of the story, but according to Christopher Marlowe, I think the only information Faust really got was the knowledge of what Helen of Troy looked like. Otherwise he just used the powers given by Mephistopheles for entertainment purposes.

Not much. It wasn't like he ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

I played Faust in a class play of Marlowe's Dr. Faustus. I don't remember him getting any info per se, just that he got forty years of debauchery and then the devil got his soul. You don't have to know much to be debauched. Just where the debauched hang out and how to get there.
