If you have seen his movie, how do you think teachers are portrayed in real life these days? Do you feel they are looked at as just a normal person or is there more to it?

G'day HKD,

Thank you for your question.

The film treats him positively showing how he inspires a love of music in his students. It is often considered to be a reworking of the classic film Goodbye Mr Chips.

Portrayal of teachers varies from positive role models to creeps. Similarly, the teaching profession varies from good people to monsters. Unfortunately, there is far more coverage of the occasional monster who abuses their students than the people who work long hours teaching our kids.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Seasons regards.

i love this movie it is very moving. if you mean how is the movie portraying real life teachers. in someways i think it does very well b/c teachers these days have to put up with scantily clad students a lot of attitude and some crushes or ppl trying to get a good grade. and that movie shows the human struggle in that sense. if you mean are todays' teachers looked at as normal ppl. i think the answer is no. i think sometimes it is forgotten that these ppl have families, homes and above all feelings just like everyone else and they should be respected by all b/c you have to be brave to be a teacher in todays' world. thanks to all who do that.

there is definitely more to it. this teacher touched the lives of all his students, many of them reappeared at the end of the story to play his american symphony at the time of his retirement. just as poignant was his realization that he was helping all his students, but not his deaf son, but redeems himself at the conclusion of the film.
