Why were there four or what it seemed like four stories in the film Hero, and all with different colors in the scenery and actors clothing?

Jet Li came to the emperor initially with the intent of killing him. Jet Li (Hero) had gone to great lengths to set up an untrue story about how he had killed the three warriors who posed a threat to the emperor. In that way he was able to get physically closer to the emperor. However the emperor could tell that the Hero's story was not true. The emperor told a story of what he thought had happened, which was the second version. The Hero then told the true story, explaining what actually happened, and that was the last version.

It is a beautiful and well-crafted film.

The movie Hero (with Dustin Hoffman) was about a father trying to connect with his son.

The color gave you a clue as to which character was telling the story.

Jet Li's fake story = blue
king = red
Jet Li's real story = green
