This is the best idea and iI used it for my little sister. SHe use to bit her nails and i took her to this nail place to get her nails done and once they were done she didn't want to but her nails cauyse they would mess up. So try that! Or try something else insted of bitting ur nails chew gum, to stop from bitting ur lower lip use chap tick , and i bit the skin around my nails to so i put nelsporen or premeon jelly when ya sleep and they will grow back .

i heard that it takes "officially" 21 days to break a bad habit...try to keep you're mind off of biting your nails or whenever you see yourself about to bite you're nails tell yourself that nail biting is a bad habit over and over again until you finally stop. and also it helps to think about how better youre nails will look when u stop biting them off. i should know i used to bite my nails all the time i stoped a few weeks ago...and now my nails look better than ever!!!!! Use nail hardener on your nails all the time..its like a nail shiner which works two ways..it'll make ur nails harder and shiny yet whenever you will bite your nails ...its gonna taste gross that eventually your brain will learn not to BITE your nails..it worked for my sister and she quit biting her nails with a week.

put fingernail polish remover on your nails or something, that way you wont want to bite your nails, and the biting the lip thing, i dont know.

You really have to concentrate on the problem to stop it. If you're serious about stopping, it's going to take will power, unless you're not capable of doing it yourself. that's also one of my bad habits. a lot of people are telling me it symbolizes lack of self-esteem. so what i do (and is still in the process of doing it) is that i always carry with me a hanky, so that evrytime i'm tensed, i gt to squeeze it ( not bite it! LOL!)..sometimes, i also have with me anything something to eat...so far, i can see progress and i hope it would also do something to you...also, try watching talkshows (like oprah, tyra) especially if the topic is all about self-esteem or posture...
