Arabian peninsula(Saudi Arabia Now) to be more specific in Macca our prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him) statred to ask people for believing in his message but he was accused by insanity and madness,so he was ordered by god to leave Macca.
so he immigrated to Maddinah about 500Km away from Macca and there he spread the Islam to the whole world.
