Ok, I find the movie Deja Vu to be a bit confusing and because I'm such a curious person, I've been dying to understand these things. If anyone knows the answer to any of them, please comment!
1. How was Claire able to "respond" back to Denzel when he used the laser? If this was recorded video, shouldn't she have went about her business, but instead she gasped and was frightened after Denzel used the laser and messed up the machine.
2. Does Denzel die trying to save her or not? If he does, how do you explain him reappearing at the end of the movie and why wouldn't he be able to remember it?
3. Now that everyone is saved, how do you explain the funeral and the people who died on the ferry all before?

1. The fact he was trying to prove with the laser was that it was not a recording, but an actual temporal bubble, so she was able to receive information through the interface just as he was.
2. The Denzel that died in the explosion was not the one from her time stream, but was from the other branch of time that ended when he jumped into her reality. The Denzel that approached her at the end was the same one we saw at the first of the movie arriving on the scene of the accident. It was just beginning for him and he had no memories of what would happen during the next 4 days and 6 hours.
3. The funeral occurred in the other branch of time and did not occur in the new one (in which everyone was saved except the terrorist). All the people on the ferry survived.

2. Denzel did die trying to save her. He appears later and doesn't remember because the Denzel that died was from the future 4 days later.
3. To my understanding because of what he did he changed the future and they were no dead bodies.

you should remember that he went to the past to change the lastest events, and to avoid the death of Claire ant the other people affected in the detonation of the bomb. He died saving Claire but that was him on the future, that's why he cant remember the occurred because he didn't live it. Finally he could save all that people and all the things he lived in the last 4 days will dramatically change.

That why the picture is call Deja Vu. it back tracks on thing that happen before, or things that you see before they happen so you can prevent they from happing so every thing was like a dream.Like i have been here before.
