I would rather have a horse. Transportation, recreation, and a good hobby. Plus there is nothing better than saddling up a good horse, firing up my pipe and taking a good trail ride.

This is a pretty tough question. As an animal lover, and vet tech, it is strange, but i have never owned either of them. They are both expensive, and i just don't have the money to properly care for them. BUT, at this point, i would have to say i love dogs more, just because i have had more experience around them. But horses are absolutely beautiful, and i have met a lot of very nice horses, but i don't have the experience with them to be completely comfortable. So i guess dogs for now, but it might change later, if i can ever afford a horse, and get to know them better.

Dogs. But that doesn't mean I don't like horses.

I had one horse in my life. I bought Sandy when he was 2 years old, and he died at the age of 26 years old. I was devastated when he left me. He was my childhood friend, my soul mate, my everything. He got me through a horrible adolescence and kept me sane into my early twenties. I swore he would be my one and only. There would never be another horse like him.

And I've kept my promise to him ever since.

It really depends on me, what I'm doing, and where I'm at. If I'm workin cattle I want a horse (both would be nice though). If I'm wanting something more of a pet to work and play, then I want a dog.

BOTH!

Dogs are probably easier and cheaper to care for but you can ride a horse!

horses, while they are not nearly as versatile as a dog they are certainly more intellegent and share the dogs character trait of loyalty.

I would prefer dogs. Easier to handle, clean up after, feed, etc.
