Breaking in on my network?

How would I know if someone is trying to get in on my routers' network? My connection keeps going off and on.

Probably not, but...

Is your wireless network encrypted?

Are you using MAC address filtering?

Your router can tell you the mac addresses of the computers that are connected to it. If you see extras, then you have a problem.
