nudity because it's natural and that's just life. however, the less violence kids are exposed to, the better.

Honestly, I think both are okay in reasonable amounts.

It's kind of silly how nudity has become so closely associated with sex that people are unable to distinguish between the two. It would do people good if there was more nudity displayed in a non-sexual context and less nudity (and near-nudity; as some people on television might as well not be wearing anything at all) displayed in heavily sexual contexts.

As for violence, I don't think it's much of an issue as long as it's not stomach-churning gory stuff. Statistics will show that despite the media sensationalizing instances of TV-influenced violence in youth, youth violence in general has been steadily decreasing for the past 30 years. Chances are, your kid's not going to be violent no matter how many guns he sees on TV.

I think attempting to shelter kids from ALL things questionable is ridiculous--a sheltered kid may end up having trouble fitting in and could become socially inept. (I've seen this in some of my classmates when I was in middle school.) It's important to teach them how to react to these kinds of things, and especially teach them the difference between reality and fiction.

Prepare your kids for reality--because when they're going to school, and meeting all kinds of different people, and becoming subject to their influences, they're going to get exposed to this stuff no matter what.

I would rather my daughter not see either. But I'd be a lot more forgiving if she saw something with a little nudity than something with graphic violence.

It might be a little embarassing, but children walk in on their parents having sex all the time. However, it's pretty damaging to experience domestic violence. And there are still a lot of cultures (South America and central Africa mostly) where people wear very little than loin-cloths. But violence is a lot more damaging on a child's brain than seeing someone naked... you know what they say, "make love, not war", LOL.

Nudity, because its just a body and no violence or what so ever.
Children tend to learn quickly from tv.

I don't like porn either.
I like nudity.

Love, Cooporation, Sex, massage, sun worshiping .. all are should be non-violent, sharing, experences.

Rarely if every does pure nudity in and of itself reve someone up to go rob, maim, rape, kill his or her neighbors.

Although I like a violent show as much as the next ..

I do think that as a western culture we are being de-sensitized to violence and are being trained to be mean to our fellow man.

Think on it .. Benny Hill with a little T & A ... or Silence of the Lambs? hum?

People also see all the violence on tv and news and have their kids hide inside .. and yet I have lived recently in an apartment complex where the kids played like they did 40 years ago.

If I had children, I would rather they see neither violence or nudity.

Neither! Why does it have to be a choice?

Also for those of you who don't think kids seeing nudity is a big deal, think again. As a teacher I can say there is a clear difference between kids who are exposed to it and those who are not. It's heartbreaking.

Neither. I grew up in the 50's. There were wonderful shows on. Violence and nudity were not even considered. They relied on good stories and good acting. That was good enough for me. Give me the good old days, pardner.
