It's still a theory, but it's the latest update because if mass travels at the speed of light it falls apart.

Anything moving faster than the speed of light is said to move forward in time.

It just is. So far there is no theory to explain why. And light speed is attainable only by electromagnetic radiation: nothing with mass can ever go that fast because relativity predicts that any mass traveling at exactly the speed of light would increase to infinity, have zero thickness in the direction of travel, and experience time as having stopped entirely - all physically impossible situations.

Sometimes, however, some particles can go faster than light through certain materials. This produces visible shock waves ("light booms") called Cherenkov Radiation.

This was the one thing Einstien came up with that made everything in relativity fall into place. Just about all his theories have been proven correct by experimentation.

By the way, matter does not fall apart at the speed of light, it's mass increases, if it were to reach the speed of light, matter would be infinitely heavy and collapse in on itself like a black hole. But according to Einstien, matter can not reach the speed of light.

Any event that occurs in the universe takes a certain amount of time.
Time is a quantum entity that when divided again and again will eventually go out of existence on the next division.
The speed of light is an event.
If you try to increase its speed, you are trying to force it to exist over a period of time that can not exist!

mild years is a unit of distance, no longer time. you moreover mght are forgetting which you would be able to desire to double the radius of circle/sphere to get the diameter, so the diameter of the Universe is 13.seventy 5 x 2 = 27.5 billion mild years huge. Is the internet internet site you got here upon the one hundred fifty billion mild years huge parent on scientifically sturdy? I guess you a cup of coffee or tea that it is not scientifically sturdy. many human beings make their own internet-web sites and would positioned something they p.c. on that internet-take a seat. that would not advise what they positioned on that internet-internet site is real, precise, or actual.

its been said that a particle tinier than molecule called the "quark" is capable of traveling faster than the speed of light, it can be found at the highest mountain.

Science can't answer why, only how.

Here's a fairly decent link about this:
