Here's a list of a little bit of everything

BBQ: Lucilles in The District in Green Valley Ranch; great service, AMAZING food, great atmosphere too.

Mexican: El Jefe's; 2 current locations, South Eastern and St. Rose, and Stephanie and Warm Springs. The portions are pretty large, and the food is really nouveau mexican. The chips and salsa are great, and their shrimp enchiladas are amazing. Plus, they've got a great bar, and a big tequila selection. Prices for dinner are around $13-30 a plate.

Greek: Opa's- Rainbow and Sahara- AUTHENTIC Greek food, Gyros, Souvlaki, and typical things at most greek places. (I'm greek so I know greek food). The atmosphere is great, and I believe they have live music at night. Its got a big price range, anywhere from $15-50 a plate I think.

Italian: Panevino right off the Strip and Sunset. Around $30-100 a plate, and the food is fantastic. The service is great, and the view is fabulous! Definitely more of an upscale place, I think you have to be wearing long pants and a collared shirt, perhaps even a tie.

Maggiano's in the Fashion Show mall is another excellent place to go, the portions are big enough to share, and they're around $15-50 for dinner. Everything is also ordered a la carte.

Sushi- RA Sushi in the Fashion Show, and Kaizen Fusion Roll on Eastern just before Horizon Ridge. Both are fantastic, with a big selection, and plenty of cooked things for the apprehensive.

THE STRIP- I've not been some of these, but they're among the top rated places in Vegas!

Mon Ami Gabi-The Paris
Eiffel Tower Restaurant- The Paris
Smith and Wollensky's- On the strip
TAO- the Venetian
Emeril's Fish House- MGM
Aureole- Mandalay Bay
Olives- Bellagio- AMAZING place. The beef carpaccio was amazing, so was the tuna tartare, and the service was great. It's pretty pricey though.
Picasso- Bellagio

Good Luck

Where to start? The best Sushi place is Sushi Fever on West Sahara just past Buffalo. The Range inside Harrahs great for steaks....Ol' boys club atmosphere. Bahama Breeze, For tapas you have go to Firefly on Paradise Rd, in the same shopping center is Marrakesh. It's a set Moroccan menu, complete with Belly dancers, no silverware, floor seating and a hand washing with rose water before eating. Great place. Now Yoli's is a Brazilian bar-b-que restaurant, but over priced and kind of boring. So to get the meal in a better atmosphere try Samba Grill in the Mirage just be careful not to eat too much salad before they start bringing the meat. It's all you can eat, GREAT FUN!! Mon Ami Gabi is great for appetizers, bread and wine. Try the pate. The Peppermill has good breakfast and Balley's has an excellent Sunday brunch as does The House of Blues. Lawry's House of Prime Rib is nice too. Hope this helps.

At $30 the Bellagio's weekend dinner buffet seems pricey until you get in. It's really an excellent place to eat, and great if you've got a group of people - no worries about what people feel like eating, splitting the bill, etc. I'd also recommend them for brunch. Great variety and quality.

Reservations are needed as the line gets really long as peak mealtimes (that goes for any place in Vegas really).

My in-laws live there. They like Lucilles It's a barbecue place. It's in a shopping center called the District. It's off strip so the prices are better.Huge portions and real honest to goodness soul food and southern barbecue and seafood. If you want a high end steakhouse, go to Lake Las Vegas. The place was called Colo or Coho $45 for a porterhouse, but sssssssoooooooo worth it!

The seafood buffet at the Rio is REALLY good. It's about $75 for two people but it's really good. If you don't like seafood, Table 34 is really good too. Again, it's a little pricey, but it's worth it. My favorite restaurant of all time is Sammy's Woodfired Pizza. They have amazing salads, pastas, and, of course, pizzas. Plus, the portions are really big.
