When was the last time you cleaned out your cookies?
I know that when mine start to add up, my computer really slows down.
Also, after cleaning out your cookies, do a spam scan, as well as a virus scan.
Finally do a disc cleanup, and also a disc defrag.

After, you do all of the options given above, clean disk, scan for spyware, delete cookies, check to see what programs are running at startup in the background that are taking up resources you don't need running. Google for Blackviper, who has a good go by on how to disable unneeded programs from taking up resources. If you are a novice to computers, you may want to be careful. Just because you have broadband, does not gurantee a fast computer; memory, processor, and other factors contribute to the performance of your computer. What is the advertised speed you have, 1.5 or 3.0? Go to www.dslreports.com. This site has great information on customizing your computer to maximixe it's potential with broadband, including speed tests.

what is your internet service provider? are you using dial-up or DSL? These are the questions you must answer. If you are using internet cable then you will definitely have a slow internet speed when the TV is on because it is directly connected to your cable TV. It is because the cable TV connection and your internet connection is the same. And if there are a lot of subscribers of the same internet cable who are using the TV and the computer at the same time then you you will have a big internet connection problem. PLease try to get a different internet service provider. I would suggest a DSL. Also if you are using a dial-up, it can only run and download 56Kbps. So, it is obviosly very slow. And again I would like to suggest you get a DSL. =)

high speed internet, doesn't make your computer itself faster... high speed internet will allow you to download information faster to your computer, however, the aspects that control the speed of your computer are your processor, memory, and space on your hard drive... it sounds like you have an older computer, that either needs to be replaced or upgraded... your process is like the brain of the computer, its ability to compute faster and faster, memory is the workdesk of the computer, the more memory you have, the more work space your computer has to functions with different programs, and the space on your hard drive is like your library, where you keep all of your files, the bigger your hard drive, the more information you can keep on the PC...
