ipod won't show up in source list?

just got the ipod in may. it worked great for 2 months. now it doesnt show up in source list. i removed the software and reloaded it, restored the ipod, etc and still wont work. i have WIN xp home edition. can i return it? will apple fix it for free?or is it too late and am i out $200

Sounds like you are connecting your iPod via a P.C.(Windows based system)
iPod works more efficiently on Mac!-However,you can resolve this!
If you have re-installed iTunes for your Operating system and it still will not recognize it-then maybe the iPod is faulty!
Take it to either an Apple store or the Original Retailer(With all documentation) for replacement!
