You can use medication, but a healthy lifestyle (exercise and healthy eating) can ease the pain too. Also birth control helps A LOT (know personally)!

heating pad on the bottoms of your feet. Curl up in the fetal position around pillows. use pads, instead of tampons.
there are some herbs and medicines as well to help. And getting on a birth control pill with help regulate and ease your period cramping.

one way you can ease period pain is take a clean washcloth and boil some hot water then put the washcloth in the boiled water finally put it were it hurts l put it on my stomach. It sounds crazy but it really works you will feel much better after 15 minutes. I hope that works.

Go to your local pharmacy and there should be a couple different over the counter medications you can buy that are really really helpful.
Ask the pharmacist what he/she recommends, which is most popular, tell them what kind of pain you need to target etc...

Advil really does help : ) Taking it easy also does, try not to drink to much coffee too.
Oh and try Primal Defense(A+ highly recomended, I use it, it works) you could probably gt it at a local health food store

IB profun if you can take that even the generic will do ..a quart of icecream and a hot bath
if it's really unbearabel the Pill can be a solution

geesh, somethings you just can't help. If you're having really bad cramps, I will just recommend taking meds. try relaxing things. a warm bath. LOTS of rest. tea. a heating pad over lower abdomen. chocolate.
