I didn't even think of getting a prepaid phone...is it a worthwhile thought? I don't know if it's more money, or if it just depends. I need some pros and cons here. Thanks!

Yes! There are some decent ones, the best on voted is Virgin Mobile because they have free nights, and also have Penny texting, the thing where the prepaid plans get ya is when you get on there internet service...for example with my cingular go phone just to connect to there internet service is 34 cents. Which doesnt sound like alot but when ur paying that much per page it adds up. Hope this helps.

Actually a wonderful prepaid plan that I have is Verizon INpulse.

You get unlimited nights (from 9:01pm to 5:59am) and unlimited IN calling. It's 10 cents to talk to someone if it isn't past 9pm or if the other person doesn't have Verizon. They also take 99 cents out of your account each night.

I spend around $30 a month on one prepaid card which is cheap compared to how many cards I had to get each week with Virgin Mobile, T-Mobile and Tracfone. One prepaid card a month sure beats getting one once a week, don't you think?

Also, I have never heard of a prepaid plan giving you unlimited nights AND unlimited IN calling all in one but INpulse.

Bottom line, pre-paid plans are always more expensive--both the phone and the plan. My advice, lose your home phone expense and get a cell phone plan with a contract. Get a free phoen and pay less. You can compare carriers at http://www.cellufinder.com .

prepaid you don't have to worry about dishing out money once a month. but with plans you get better deals.
