How did the Munich Massacre give the Black September group power?

As with any group like that they liked to believe they had the control of the situation. I don't think it really gave them any power but they certainly had the upper hand in that situation.

Maybe also because the world could see what their cause was that they thought they had the power to do anything. Black September was a group that wanted to be in control in aide of their cause and for a while they were.
