The unit of currency is the Kenya shilling (Ksh). Each shilling is divided into 100 cents. Notes come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 Ksh. Coins are 5, 10, 50 cents and 1 Ksh. One us dollar is equiv. to 70.05 Ksh

USD 1 = 70 Kenya Shillings (Ksh). That is the official rate of exchange. Like every 3rd world country, you can better rates from the money changers. I expect the rate to be around USD 1 = 85 Ksh.

While most of Kenya uses Shillings, the US dollar or the British Pound are also in circulation.

Okay, a couple people have stated that one dollar equals around 70 Kenyan Shillings. However, one coke will cost you somewhere between 50 to 100 Ksh. So you are not going to get your coke for 1 Ksh.
And the reason for the price range is that it depends upon where you order your coke.
Hopefully you are asking because you are planning a trip to Kenya. If so, have a wonderful time. The people there are great, and so is the scenery.

and you can convert your own currency into theirs at the current rate too, and vice versa.

to you above me: why the hell does everyone here always talk in US$ like you are the only people on the bloody www? damn, there is more to the world than what happens to you people. its best to give the converter address and let them work it out by themselves. US doesnt help me.
