So here are some details of the dress.
It's not long but not too short, the top is simple where the bottom is lace over black and there is a red with black lace belt type thing around the waist.

a simple necklace, pearls would be great but depends on your age as it might make you look too "old"... nothing that hangs down too much because you want to keep it in line with the top of the dress.
maybe a sparkly black necklace to stick with the colour but add a different dimension to it.
basically, stick with neutral simplicity, you'll look fabulous :)

Wear something with pzazzz. I am thinking how pretty a velvet cord with a red or pink medallion on it to pick up and accent the red in the belt. click on the link below to see what I mean.

White pearl or a silver necklace (short) with a small diamond pendant.

go a bit more modern and get one of those unevenly spaced pearl ones on a gold chain. They look nice with black.

You could wear a nice set of pearls. or a diamond necklace or one that looks like it like rhinestones.

Everyone says pearls, and while pearls are great, they are also "safe." I would go with something wide, flat, and flashy, but regardless, wear only one necklace.
