Once my father hung up on one and the telemarketer called right back, saying "I think something happened to our connection" - My father responded by saying "did it sound like this?" and hung up again - no more calls!

i told a telemarketer one time if she could call be back on the 32 of the month

actually what i do is i just keep the phone off the hook with them still on the line. IF you don't hang up, they CANT hang up. They can only hang up when you hang up. Its pretty awesome. You should try it sometime, unless you are a telemarketer. ;)

I like to show just enough interest and then wait until they are on a roll with their spiel. Ithen quietly set the phone down so they can talk to themselves for a few minutes. Then for some reason, once they have wasted a bit of their own time, they just mysteriously hang up.
I mean geez! I was only taking a little nap.

I tell them to hang on for a minute, I have another phone call coming in, and just switch lines and lay the phone down...they get tired of waiting eventually.

My nephew used to use this one...I like cake do you like cake...I really really like cake..LOL
Or you could turn the tables and try to sell the telemarketer something...

They were trying to sell us windows and I said I would really like some but I live in a tent. They had the nerve to hang up. LOL

I tell them I'm not home to call back after 9pm. By law they cannot call after 9pm in any time zone.

I don't give them a line...as soon as they start talking, I hang up.
