I'm working on a big cat/wild cat theme. I had no trouble picking a leopard to represent stregth, a lion for team work, a tiger for individuality, cheetah for speed... but i'm stuck on endurance. anyone out there have an idea for a cat known got its endurance?

Well, I'm a big guy, and I love cats, so I'll give it a shot.

Endurance... hmm...

Most cats aren't really known for endurance. They're definitely more of the fast twitch, ambush, sprinting type predators than long distance (this is, of course, exemplified by the cheetah - fast sprinter, but no stamina).

Perhaps a Canadian lynx? They endure the cold weather and snow of the arctic winter.

Snow leopards are pretty hardy too, wandering the harsh Himalayan highlands in cold and wind and covering ranges of hundreds of miles in search of prey.

Sorry, that's all I can think of at the moment.

All I could find was a cheesy civet reference.
Cats are known for NOT having endurance, but sprinting and ambushing prey. Hyenas, wolves/dogs are known for running down and exhausting prey.

If you have ever seen and observed a normal cat sitting in a field and watching a mouse hole for hours on end, then you have your cat for endurance!

(AND they can also sleep endlessly)
