The rules are as follows.
1) Sing something that is in the same vocal range that the character you are trying out for will be singing in.
2) Don't sing anything that has ever been in the pop top 40 EVER
3) Don't sing anything that you are unsure of.
4) Don't sing anything from Cats, Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, or Oklahoma ( the casting people will have already heard it a million times)
5) Don't sing anything from the show you are trying out for. ( it is presumptuous)
I did musical theater for 3 and a half years so I do actually know that all of these rules are good and true.

The audition is tomorrow! You need to have your song memorized, and unless you're singing acapella (just you and no one playing along with you and no CD music) you'll probably need sheet music for the audition accompanist. That said, if you have anything memorized with sheet music, do that piece, as your other options are rather limited in the time left.
Also, check out http://www.musicaltheatreaudition.com/smdb/index.html or http://www.musicalnotesnmore.com/ for some songs to look into.
