I think Sitchin's theories have some merit, but also, contain many flaws. First, I've heard that his translation of the Sumerian accounts is not quite accurate. However, since I'm not conversant in ancient Sumerian, I can't give a definite opinion. One thing he does do, which is a problem I've also noticed with Erik von Daniken, is to give modern interpetations to ancient artifacts and writings. If a race of superior aliens did indeed come to Earth back then, I doubt that they would have used what we would identify as rocket ships, or have weapons just like ours. But there IS somrthing that strikes me as very interesting in what Sitchin has described. The Sumerian texts seem to describe a world in which humans interact on a regular basis with their "gods." Those beings are described in a matter-of-fact manner which is not what one would expect in the typical myth. And if such events had not transpired, what really might have happened to give rise to those accounts? I just can't imagine a bunch of high priests dreaming up such things. So, I believe we WERE contacted by itelligent aliens/gods, and that they DID interact with us. The idea that they created the human race through genetic manipulation of another species is certainly possible. Current evolutionary theory doesn't appear adequate to explain where we came from. Creationism provides no answer, other than "God did it," which is pretty much what Sitchin theorizes, with a somewhat unconventional definition of "God." As for Nibiru, who knows? Astrophysicists say something that large could not go undetected, that the "wobble" it would impart to the Sun would be noticed. But we haven't had the ability to measure such things until quite recently, and with a period of 3600 years, I think we might not be able to detect it over a short period of time. I do think Sitchin's assertion that the aliens came here to mine gold, in order to correct some problem with their atmosphere is pretty far-fetched.

There is a major flaw in Sitchin's writings, namely, he doesn't really know how to read Sumerian. His interesting ideas must be approached as creative fictions. If you want to really engage his work, you should read outside this very speculative genre and read some actual translations of Sumerian literary texts by more reliable philologists. For example, try Kramer's "Myths of Enki" or Bottero's "Lorsque les dieux faisaient l'homme." An old anthology of creative translations by Thorkild Jacobsen called "The Harps That Once..." would also be a nice starting point.

i think of those are plausible: A pig's orgasm lasts for half-hour. Banging your head against a wall makes use of one hundred fifty energy an hour. human beings and dolphins are the only species that have intercourse for exhilaration. (regrettably, dolphins could additionally committ suicide like human beings, that's why i presumed this.) some lions mate over 50 circumstances an afternoon. Mosquito repellents do no longer repel. They cover you. The spray blocks the mosquito's sensors so as that they do no longer understand you're there. Apples, no longer caffeine, are extra effectual at waking you up in the morning. Turtles can breathe by using their butts. each little thing else i discover a splash annoying to have self belief. exceedingly superb-exceeded human beings living longer than lefties.

I don't know, but it is interesting. There are some ancient cultures with the same beliefs about ancestors from other celestial sites. Makes a person think.
