I didn't take World History as AP (it didn't exist when I was in school), but I did take Euro and US, so I think the following should apply:
Really be prepared for the writing section. Most people I knew who did badly ran out of time. If you haven't practiced writing under the time limits in class or on your own, do so. There are plenty of places to find sample question online. Alternately, all of the study guides contain sample questions. Why I did, and found to work really well, was to write two or three essays in the time limit. After you finish your first one don't look at it, set it aside, and write another a few days later. Perhaps do that again. Then, read them all together and try to figure out what you did poorly and how you can improve it.
I would also say to look at your textbook and try to know the material, of course. The simple fact is that you will either know the answers to the question or you won't. The writing sections really allow you to shine. I always knew people with more and better content on AP exams and when I was an undergrad taking exams, but I frequently did better than them. That was simply because my prose was better. Remember, writing is a process and a skill that is developed only through practice. Besides, if you learn the name of one more Egyptian Emperor or British Prime Minister or mountain in Asia it might help you answer a multiple choice question, but it won't help you in the future. Good writing will.
Good luck on your exam!

Go through your history book, and make note cards, of all the events on all of the time lines. Use them to memorize, when all of the most important events occurred. If your history book has chapter summaries, reread all of those a few hours before the test.
