When I start my computer normally, my monitor shuts off/turns black and I can't see anything. I restarted the computer and tried it again and it still didnt work. The only way I can access my computer is to do it on safe mode. Anybody know the problem?

OK, I've had this problem before, what you need to do is start in "Safe mode with networking" get online and find the driver for your display...if you can't do that, try running windows update in safe mode and click custom install, then on the left see if there are any "Optional Hardware Updates" your display adapter should be listed there. If not then it's more than likely that your resolution or refresh rate is set to something that your monitor can't handle...if that's the case, try hooking up a different monitor...maybe borrow a friends if you don't have a spare, and then change your resolution to something more compatible...if safe mode works try setting your resolution to 800X600 w/16bit colors

Yes, your video drivers are hosed.

Boot into safe mode, right click on "my computer" choose "properties", go to "Hardware", then "Device manager", find your Display adapter, right click on it, choose "properties", "drivers" "rollback driver".

There's a lot of this going around.
