Actually, yes.

There are a group of gamers that occasionally bring their Wii and their TV to my college. As I was sitting with a gaming friend of mine, my good friend Ryan was bowling, when the wrist strap snapped and smashed into the TV. It did some damage to the TV, but the controller was toast. The funny thing is, he wasn't making large gestures or swift movements. We even heard the snap. It was terrible! I'd NEVER own a wii!

No, but on Gamefaqs.com, there was a poll asking about what you thought about the "Flying Wii-mote" horror stories. I siad I was scared. But I still got the wii. You just have to secure the wrist strap, and don't use big movements. Only small movements are necessary. (Or at least when you play Red Steel)

I saw a video on You tube where a person was bowling didn't use his strap and remote flew into the tv. THats exactly why nintendo made a wrist strap.

I heard the same thing! Apparently there is a wrist strap and some who have broke them weren't using it. The wrist band apparently brakes after only a couple uses. I wont be buying one anytime soon.

Um NO?
Put the wrist strap on and don't be stupid. You can flail all you want if it is secured and it won't slip out of your hands. If you're that worried, buy one of the controller covers, they add a lot of grip.

I read that it has happened to some people. Apparently they are sweating and the wrist wrap slips through their hand and breaks the tv.

nah, I tend to buy Nintendo Wii's and burn them in my backyard for self pleasure as I cut myself listening to RAP music.
