Because they look at the world the way it is and the way people in it have historically behaved, not as the way a "perfect world" with people acting "perfectly" would be, this is commonly referred to as "Utopia", well "ideal" it will never be, because given opportunity, the miscreants among us would take over and be tyrants. Not George Bush tyrants who lecture you or try and hug you, tyrants who will bullet, bomb or bury you alive. No they aren't always right, no one is, but they are more right about what is best for the country on the big issues. Anyone who thinks they can schmooze the rest of the world into liking us, and not attacking us, needs to think about Pearl Harbor, or 9/11, they were plotted while we had peace loving democrats talking about the cooperation of all nations for a better tomorrow, building for peace, etc. etc. while our enemies saw this as a sign of weakness. Reagan said, correctly (historical fact, say facts, not politically correct "feel good" things, and you'll be right more often) "No one ever attacked America because they thought that militarily we were too strong." More important than always being right, is always being able to work together, and that is my trip to Utopia, because parties just changed position in Washington, that is all, it will be same old same old. Hope I'm wrong.

Well unlike the other people who didn't answer the question at all. The key word I see you are using is "seem". So it is thought. Personaly myself I would be clasified as a Republician (I'm not old enough to vote). But why do they seem right? Because if you believe in morality then they are usualy right. But then you have to ask yourself. Who makes morality? And ultimatly it comes down to God. Because no human law can create moral issues. Since God made morality then you have to look at what he says. Most Republicans are against abortion, homosexuality, and other issues. But lets take homosexuality for instance. It is mentioned in the Bible quite a lot. And God calls it a sin. God calls Murder a sin (which would be killing of unborn babies).
So ultimitly Republicans seem right most of the time because for most of the time they follow morality.

Because most of the media sources in the US are controlled by republicans... Think Fox News (For more info watch "Out Foxed"). When you start paying attention to independant media sources you realize the they are quite often off their rockers. listen to National Public Radio check out democracynow.org or indymedia.org or go directly to the source at reuters.com or AP.org where most news stations get their information. Those who control the media control the minds of the masses. Which is why it seems that the republicans are always right according to the mainstream media stations. To comment on David R a few posts down. Not counting when Jesus said that we are no longer bound by the previous laws we are only bound to Jesus, if he wants to talk about biblical laws lets have a look see. David, do you ever trim your sideburns? eat a cheese burger? wear clothes that are made out of different fabric? eatten pork or seafood? If you have done any of those things then you are nothing more than a hipocritical sinner with false hopes.

The Republicans always look right because the Democrats never have any plans, ideas or answers. Its easy to look smart in the absence of opposition.

thats a good questions, i don't think they are always right but it does seem that they are 99% of the time. i guess its just skill and the fact that they arent democrats that make this possible
