I watch soaps on all of the networks (thank you Soapnet). I love GH, OLTL, AMC, getting into Days but my favorite has to be Y&R. I've been watching that show since I was in the womb...I was born a few months after the show first aired! I have always loved the characters and stories and the concept of the show. I think Bill Bell was a genius and really set the bar as far as daytime dramas go. Personally I hope that since Lynn Lantham is in charge and changing things (firing people left and right!!!) that the show does not completely lose Bill's vision and spirit.

General Hospital. I don't know why it just kept me interested more than others. I had both of my children right after watching GH in the hospital. I named my daughter after Helena Cassadine, only at the time that I picked her name I thought they were saying Elaina, that was also when Liz Taylor played her and she wasn't near as evil as the latest one.
At one time I lived in an apartment and I would bring the little black and white tv outside to the pool so that several of us could watch it.
I went several years without watching it and started again, the last few years. To my amazement all of the old characters from 25 years or more were on there. Back came Scorpio, Anna, Dr. Drake, Holly, Leslie, Luke, and of course Laura. I think this last story really sucked though.
How many soaps bring back all these long lost characters? I think it's great. I often wonder what ever happened to Amy though?

i love the young and the restless because it more "real" than some other soaps like bold and the beautiful where it seems like everyone on the show is related to someone somehow because they are married and some other ones about being on an island with a crazed killer, too fake if you ask me.. i also love the characters on y&r and it always keeps me coming back everyday.. it is truly interesting and even if you are a new person to the show you can figure out what is going on because they will go back to things in it and you learn new things also.

General Hospital and The Young and the Restless is a toss up for me. They are both great. I can't stand Phyllis though -- She is a s*** and I hate the way she thinks she owns the place now.
Sharon needs to slap her down after she has that baby. Then tell the Newmans to kiss her a** and her and Jack go on with their lives.
I love Jack and I hope he knocks Micheal, Kevin, And their drama mom Gloria down.
GH just rocks with the story of Luke and Laura, Nik and Emily, the circle with Jason, Sam, Lucky, and Elizabeth, Jax, Carly and Sonny. I think Milo is liking LuLu. They need to get Max and date!
Someone needs to just slap the s*** of out Ric and get it over with. I love Ephany (if that's how you spell it). She is hard nose but she rocks!
I think Sonny next flame will be Dr. Laney? What happen to Dr. Lee?

AMC- I love All My Children. It's funny because I haven't watched the show in at least 3 years but it wasn't hard getting back into the story. My mom originally hooked me to the soap opera, and we both watch it to this day.

I've watched it since it was 15 minutes long and in B&W. I would watch it with my mom. I've watched others since then, but have given them up when story lines got on my nerves.
ATWT has gotten on my nerves on occassion, too, but, not only are there characters from when I started watching it years ago, some of the same actors remain in their roles.

I'm dating myself but my favorite soap is All My Children. I started watching it during Erica's abortion story in 1973. Of course now we've come to find out it was actually an unabortion! lol

It's General Hospital...they take real life issues and put them into their storylines...like Robins HIV Positive...I love Jason and Sam together..The first time I saw Sam pick up a gun and actually use it..was wow..you dont see it very often..Also Luke and Laura...

Guiding light! I have watched since i was a little girl! It was something i did with my granny! now that im in nursing school i dont have much time to watch anymroe so granny lets me know whats going on! :O)
