I think it'd make him very unpopular with a lot of the wrestlers. TNA gives guys another good option to collect a paycheck, and keeps more wrestlers employed. If WWE bought them they'd effectively have to shut them down because they won't work with Spike anymore and the NBC/Universal and CW networks won't be looking for more wrestling. So they'd probably take some of the guys in, but a lot would be left without a job.
Right now TNA doesn't pose enough of a threat to make all that worth it. Of course, it could in the future, but then it might be to late. He might also look at it as healthy competition, like WCW was when they both pused each other to greater heights.

AS Hopester says... could he? Yes...
but TNA isn't selling, and Vince wouldn't want to buy anyway. He doesn't see it as competition (well, major competition anyway... he's only interested in keeping his wrestlers from signing with TNA and trying to lock up developmental talent from the indies to keep them away from TNA too). Right now, he knows his biggest "competition" is the UFC blowing them away in PPV sales... hence the talks with Pride and possible development of a MMA under the WWE.

He's got the money to do so. I don't think TNA is big enough yet to be a threat to Vince. Give it a year or 2.

Yes,he can.Vince doesn't want to buy TNA because he doesn't want any of their wrestlers, the TNA superstars also won't join WWE.But Vince can buy TNA easily or he could just make them go bankrupt.

Anyone can buy another company if they want to as long as they stay within the monoply laws. Thats is the only thing I think that can hold him back.

No because it doesn't matter how much money you've got you can't buy something that isn't for sale and is doing better then your company at the moment.
