The veteran QB's that are being replaced for rookies are ineffective. Drew Bledsoe has been very overrated for years. He originally lost his starting job in New England to Tom Brady because of injury. Normally, a guy would come back as starter after he heals, but how in the world could Bellichick have sat Brady back down? I can't stand the Cowgirls but it looks like Tony Romo is the real deal. I hate the Titans too but Young has looked like he'll be a great one. He kinda reminds me of Randall Cunningham.

Free agency and the huge contracts that are signed take away the ability for young QBS to sit on the bench and learn. It used to be a QB could sit for 3-4 years and now so many are getting thrown in rookie season. I think its stupid personally. Look what happened to Denver tonight I knew it was a huge mistake on Shanahan's part and it cost them the game.....They still had a chance at being a playoff team and Shanahan cost them.

I think the trend of rookie QB's replacing veteran and long time starting QB's is on the rise is because their is a bigger emphasis on winning and with the money involved in signing players, you have to get your value quicker.

In the past, teams could draft young QB's and sit them on a bench for a few seasons and let them mature and learn behind a veteran QB. Now, with the money involved in free agency, you have to develop that young QB quicker and that puts pressure on the coach to get the rookie in the game. So, when a veteran goes down to injury (ie; Gradkowski replacing Simms in TB) or when he plays poorly (ie; Cutler replacing Plummer in DEN) it provides a great chance to stick that QB in the game for good.

Its because these young rookie's are getting paid an *** load, and the GM sees that money as wasted if they dont play who they paid big money for, regardless of who is the better player , the vet or the rookie.
