My son is 10 months and is really starting to hate his carseat and will scream in the car while he's in it. I give him toys but he just drops them out of his seat Any suggestions on how to make riding in the car easier on both of us?

Try getting a mirror and attatching it to his carseat but so it's right in front of him. My daughter can never get enough time to look in the mirrow at herself.

Keep your child Rear Facing for ATLEAST 12 months it used to be either 12 months or 20 pounds but now its BOTH 20 pounds and 12 months. Their softspot doesnt fully fuse until about 12 months of age. Try some of the Britax Models they allow you to rearface longer than 20 pounds (if that the issue) make sure that your child is at a 45degree angle and that the straps are 1-2 fingers below his shoulders (until the age of 1 then they need 2 be above his shoulders) The harness must be snug (no more than 1.5 fingers with between harness and chest)

Could you child be teething? Is maybe the music to loud? Try classical music or sing to the baby try to interact with the baby. Try toys attached to the carseat. make sure the child isnt soiled and is fed.

Is he still in the infant seat or a regular one? If he's in the infant one, try moving him to the bigger ones, but he should still be facing the rear...have you tried getting him one of those interactive toys you strap to the seat of the car so he can kick it and watch stuff happen?? That is a tough one...don't give in, he may be just trying to see if he can get what he wants (all kids do that!)...Good luck, I know it can be stressful trying to drive w/ a screaming baby in the car!!!

Talk with him about anything or play music. This is not uncommon, lots of babies don't like being restrained I've also put a mirror up in the front of my car so i can see him and he can see my face. I've also given my son a drink cup, his blanket, belted one of his bigger stuff animals in beside him, waited until he was almost ready to go for a nap to shop while he napped. Good luck. I hope I helped a little

Is he still in his infant seat? It may be getting to snug, consider a convertable car seat that ca go rear facing for now & in a couple months forward facing. My son liked the bigger one

My daughter went through this, as well, but when she outgrew her infant seat (she outgrew it at 6 months by height over weight/age) and we put her in a convertable seat, she was MUCH more comfortable and made life better for us.

Is your son still in the infant seat??

i agree with the infant seat issue. try the light and sound mirrors made by fisher price. they make like 2 with remote controls so he can look at himself or other stimulation and you can control it. good luck.
