I'm not really sure,but my boyfriend used to work at Dunkin' Donuts and he would come home with round marks of flour around his fly.....hmmm.....any ideas?

I wonder what they do with the portion of the doughnut they cut to make the hole. I hope it doesn't go to waste.. probably recycled to make even more doughnuts..

They have a cutter that has a hole in the dough. The hole left in the middle is mixed back in with the dough to make more dough nuts. The donut holes are made separately.

I worked in a bakery before and we used a cookie cutter shape to stamp them out. I am sure Krispy Kreme or larger companies have molds ore stamp them out with machines.
