We had the same problem for our 3 month old. We gave him 1oz prune juice mixed with 2 oz formula or breastmilk. If that didn't work our pediatrician told us to give him 2oz apple and prune juice mixed together. And if that didn't work, use a glycerin suppository. If he is a breastfed baby, it is common for there to be several days in between poops though because it is broken down so well, there is not much waste left over.

try giving him prunes or prune juice. Also take his diaper off and let him be naked. Take a thermometor and put vaseline on the whole thing and stick it in his bum and wiggle it around a little bit not to much. If he is very gassy that will help him poop or pass gas to releave it. You can also try to give him a warm bath (it helps ALOT) if he likes baths. The warm water on his belly will help the pain he might also poop in the tub which is ok because at least he'll feel better.

Poor baby! Okay..I don't know if this is really safe, I've never tried it myself, but I've been told a truly quick fix to this problem is glycerin suppositories...I am pretty sure you can get them at a drug store, but since your baby is so young, you should ask your dr first...the only other thing I can think of is to give him some prune juice...good luck, hope your little guy is feeling better soon!

Good God......I can't believe you are asking that in here. Those who said call your pediatrician hit the nail right on the head.
Constipation might be minor OR it could be something very serious that these home remedies won't help. My son had to have an operation, as it turned out not to be just simple constipation.
Please call your pediatrian.
Good luck.

Call your pediatrician's office, he knows best for your little guy. There should be a nurse practitioner or doctor on call to answer a phone call.

if he's onto baby food, cut back on the cereal and push the baby prune or veggie baby food.

Also, make sure he's getting enough water.

Hi, one of the answers on here say to give your baby a little Kayro Syrup, but I've been doing ALOT of reading lately (I have a 6 month old ) & It says you should NEVER give your infant Kayro Syrup. Try prune juice (made for babies). & Call your pediatrician in the morning to ask her opinion. Take care.

pear juice. It is much more gentle on his little tummy than apple and prune juice. It will prob work within hours. Good luck. Also try putting a warm washcloth on his tummy, this will ease his cramps.

Infant suppositories would be the quickest method. But fruit juices work too.
Also, back in the old days, we put a teaspoon of corn syrup in the baby's formula (8 ounces of formula, 1 tsp of corn syrup). It works.
