Yes, women are conditioned to be sensitive, as well as it's the way a woman's nature is. Men are conditioned to be tough because they are naturally hunters/gathers. Women are nurterers and caretakers.

Women also have different hormones than men. Well not different, just more of Estrogen and Progestrin. Women DO have testosterone and men DO have Estrogen, just in smaller amounts. (That's why some women are "tomboys"..and not lesbian and some men are more feminine...but not gay.) Depends on how much of estrogen or testosterone a fetus gets during a certain point in development. Estrogen plays a part in being sensitive as well as environment, conditioning and upbringing. It's why women get "post partum blues" and sometimes "post partum depression" after having a child, it's the sharp drop in estrogen, which is very high throughout the pregnancy. (And yes, PMS really does exist. ;0) )

Hope that helped!

Yes, most women out there are more sensitive to feelings of others but there are some males out there who are as well.

Yes, women are more sensitive to others feelings. But it is not just because they are women, it is because of hormones. You have testosterone's, which we have also, but we have more emotion, caused by women hormones. This is why when you see a man that looks more like a woman than a man, it is because he also has more female hormones.

There is a lot of research supporting this position. I think it is exceedingly difficult to differentiate between nature vs. nurture for something like this, and researchers generally have preconceived notions or agendas when they try to develop experiments.

No, I don't think it's genetically inherent. I think that maybe women develop their sensitivities more because society allows them to.

Maybe not genetic but it is definitely there. I mean you always have to be more careful about girl's feelings then boys feelings.

Nope, its a proved biological difference. Women are more receptive to the subtle emotional signals, particularly the eyes, then men.

Evolution wise, it makes sense, since women are the ones who have to respond to their young children before they acquire the skills to communicate.
