I think that they should keep him up

Disgraceful. At least trade him to a team (any team) for a draft pick if they're so concerned with money. You shouldn't be able to shame a future hall of famer like that by ending his career by sending him to the minors.

The only thing LeClair can do for the Penguins is provide leadership. They have a young team and need some veterans there to help them. But LeClair was done with scoring ever since 2000. I was kinda surprised though. I think Pittsburgh should have asked him to retire, instead of sending him down.

LeClair is done. He can't keep up in today's NHL. He is too slow and can't get open in the slot anymore. The Pens have a load of young talent in Malkin, Crosby, Armstrong, and Malone. The only thing Leclair is good for now is being a 4th line wing with some leadership abilities. He should retire now before he gets told by a coach that his career is over, like Gretzky told Hull.

John LeClaire can still be a valuable player to a number of teams in this league. The Pens just didn't have any place to put him this year. They sent him down in hopes that when he hits re-entry waivers that someone will pick him up. With a little more icetime and a new team he'll put up decent numbers this season.

I'll always appreciate what John LeClair had done for the Flyers and wish him the best, but he should retire.

The game has passed him by. He was never a fast skater, but he's lost some strength in the slot, which was his bread and butter. His end is sad, but not surprising. He has a Cup from his days in Montreal, which is more than a lot of other players can say, so by that measure, he had a good career.

Its time he puts away the skates. He had a good career but he should take the demotion as a sign that he needs to retire.
