We have always kept him in our 2 car garage at nite because he chews everything up in the house. Tonite it is too cold, so he is in the house. I am afraid he will chew up the computer cords or the christmas decirations. What can I do besides stick him in the bathroom to prevent him from chewing everything up. He is 3 yrs old and loves to chomp on everything still.

In the short term put him in a room where he can do no damage and giving him something appropriate to chew on my dogs love rawhide. Then whenever you see him chewing anything
inappropriate in the future direct him away from it by giving him rawhide or some other dog toy he can chew on and praise him for it. He just needs re-direction. Bless you for bringing your pet in from this bitter cold weather.

i have a 2 year old black lab & he, too loves to chew on anything and everything. Thats why we keep him in the basement.
About the chewing problem, there isn't really any solution besides to get him enrolled into an obiedence class or maybe bring him a ton of his favorite toys into the room he will be sleeping in. Maybe, he'll chew on them instead of the furniture.

Good luck! =]

Get him enrolled in obedience training and spend some time teaching him that household items are not to chew on. Buy him his own toys that were meant to be chewed. He doesn't know better, sounds like he was never properly trained.

Give him something he is allowed to chew on. I knot up old “T” shirts for my dogs to chew on. I also give them sturdy dog toys like nylabones. I will even give my dogs empty cereal boxes to chew on. (I take the inner bag out first.) With anything they are chewing you need to make sure they are not swallowing big pieces or lots of little pieces as it may cause an impaction.

I also have a black lab domestic dog and she or he replaced into into each thing once I first extra her homestead. I then got here upon the crate preparation technique and its impressive. they are much less high priced in comparison to the flaws you may replace because of chewing. i got here upon walmart to be the low-priced and purchase one greater great. She does great in her crate now and once I homestead i'm there to observe her and maximum suitable her whilst she is doing some thing incorrect. i might take him a mutually as to get used to it if he's already grown yet you will prefer to not use the crate as a punishment gadget they'd desire to at last strengthen to like it! sturdy good fortune!
