I can help you as genetics is my field...

You and the dad both carry blue eye genes. You carry the brown eye gene because if your mom has brown eyes and you have hazel then you inheritaed at least a brown eye gene from her. You also inherited a blue eye gene from your father. Since he has blue eyes and the blue eye gene is recessive, you know all he can donate is blue eyes. Now, it is uncertain whether eye color is what we call incomplete dominance. Which means that a blue eye and a brown eye would make hazel. complete dominance would mean that one gene would out weight the other and you would not have mixed colors. Brown eyes is considered Dominant to blue, but since you do not have brown eyes yourself, (even though you carry the brown eye gene), it is more likely that you will pass on either a hazel gene or blue gene. I would say that your baby is more likely to have a light color eye than a dark color eye, but here is the catch. Eye color is believed to be composed of more than one gene and since you can be a carrier of genes that are not expressed physically, it is impossible to predict.

On that note... The eye color of babies usually does not change after 6 months. I believe you have a blue eyed beauty!

Ok, I will do my best to remember my 11th grade biology class! LOL
Brown is the dominant gene and there are always 2 genes together. If you have 2 brown genes, the eyes will be brown. If you have a brown gene and a blue one, they will still be brown. The only way your baby's eyes will be blue is if he has 2 blue genes and the only way that can happen is if he gets it from you and your hubby. If your dad has blue eyes, you are for sure carring a blue gene. Check with your husbands parents. Do they have blue eyes? If so, it's highly possible that your husband has the blue gene which will increase the possibility that your baby will have it too. :)
HOpe that wasn't too confusing. . .

Blue eyes run in my family but my dad has hazel. My eyes were blue for the most part of my life but as i get older they turned more toward hazel. Yours could stay blue and probably will.

It all depends.I had blue eyes untill I was 2 then green then and finally now brown.Blue eyes are all on my fathers side.Brown on my mothers. My husband has blue eyes, his dad does too.His mom and brother have brown eyes.We have three kids and two of them had blue eyes now 1 had turned green then brwn.at the age of 1 and my youngest had her eyes stay blue untill she was 14mths. now they're green. and she is almost 2.So I think that it's very unlikely that anyone can tell you for sure. They can only guess, but if they don't change after the first year then it's highly unlikely that they will.

Its really just up to genetics....My daughters eyes did not change to their permanent color of brown until she was two!!! They were a gorgeous blue until about 1yr than green than finally brown. My sons turned brown by 6 mo. Generally text book is 6mo of age for permanent eye color but you never know.

Good question but their is really no way of guessing what color they will end up. They are what they are. Most eyes stop changing at one year. With all the different eye colors in your family only time can tell. The most important thing is that she can see. Good luck and enjoy your child. Happy holidays.

Brown eyes are the dominant gene. All the rest are recessive. If she is 6 months and they are not changing anymore I think that it would be safe to say that they will stay the same and not change anymore. Babies usually get their eye color in the first month or so.
