1. Inclusion

Inclusion is much more common today than it used to be and students who are being identified now would not have been in mainstreamed schools years ago.

2. Research, research, research!

The more characteristics we learn of "exceptional learners," the more people we can ascertain as having those characteristics and needs.

3. Increase in Teacher Responsibility/Ease of Process

Teachers are expected to use their training to identify "at risk" students and students with special needs. They are accountable for recommending them to specialists and to collect work samples and documentation as well as to follow-through with meetings. The meetings are outlined and have a "status quo" that makes them easier to run...specialists know specifically what to do. Since teachers are working hard to find these students to help them, they are coming to the surface.

the number of injected sprayed on preservatives or insecticides were much fewer than now. cattle took longer to raise. turkeys took 9 -12 mths to market not todays 4-7 mths. chicken well you don't want to know.
people and kids didn't lower the standards as today. dumb kids worked harder . teachers could actually teacher to learn not to tests taking.
