the parent's social security numbers are not listed on the birth certificate, at least not in the state I live in. I don't think it makes a difference. The only problem would be if HE challenges it. Until that happens I would let it go.

You need to see an attorney right away and get it corrected. It can cause your HORRID problems later on. However....he can't skip out on child support! Every jurisdiction in the country now requires DNA testing to prove paternity (and in some cases, maternity) of a child.

I can't tell if you mean the child's SSN is incorrect or in the father's SSN is incorrect, but it shouldn't make a difference. Here in California, SSNs do not appear on birth certificates.
