I have a 1989 bronco ll that is idling funny. When i crank it the rpms shoot up and down for a few seconds and will off if i leave it.Once i drive the rpms even out, but when i slow down the car shakes wildly and the rpms fall like its wants to cut off then shoot back up with a jerk and evens out when at a complete stop. The speedometer also floats at this time between 0-5 mph.what on earth is causing this?

I.A.C VALVE, MOST LIKELY idle air control valve.
Danny bronco was made by ford not chevy. Stop reading mags and actually do some wrenching.

The 2 things I would look at is the carburetor if it has one, could be dirty or the fuel filter is dirty. Also it could have a vacuum hose leak which can be trouble shot easy by squeezing each hose with a pair of pliers,if the rpm goes up when you squeeze it,that's the one that has a leak.follow it to find the leak and fix or replace it.
