My 9 year old boy went to school last week with his shirt untucked. During the middle of class the teacher noticed and told him... " go tuck in your shirt... oops I mean your dress." then was laughed at by half of his classmates. My son feels as if the teacher was making a gay joke at him and is higly upset. Would this be considered harassment and what do I do to address the problem?

It's highly inappropriate. I don't think the teacher should be saying that. But you have to weigh whether you think it's good to report him to the principal at this point - depends on whether you think you would be branded a troublemaker or if other parents would back you. If he is that upset you should go talk to the teacher himself. If he continues to act like an ***, go to the principal.

While I wouldn't consider it a gay joke, I would definitely say that the teacher's comment was very inappropriate and way out of line. You may want to have a chat with him/her so that he/she knows that your son was upset about it, and rightly so! If the problem persists, take it to the administrator.

It was probably an innocent remark. If his shirt tail was long it resemble a dress. A 9 yr old does not realize those types of sexual induenos(unless it is in the home).

i'd evaluate that harrassment. the instructor had no proper to embarrass your son in the front of the category like that. i'd be dissatisfied too. you should actual bypass seek for suggestion from with the central. I had a pal in intense college who were given a instructor fired for utilising her as an celebration for the time of sex ed because she had an abortion. If it change into taken offensively, then it change into offensive.
