HELL NO!!! Most corrupt nation on this planet: economic exploitation, medical exploitation, propaganda for media. Its WORSE than a dictatorship, instead of the state holding a gun to your head telling you to obey, it brainwashes you to obey and believe you are free. What a fraud. ABOLISH CAPITALISM, SMASH THE STATE, END ORGANIZED RELIGION

I really don't consider any part of my identity being an American. I just happen to have been born here. I don't take it for granted, I'm very glad I was born in a country that has a fairly decent economy and is not full of civil war, but I'm definitely embarassed by both my government and a large part of the country.
Oh- and the government (along with every other government in the world) was corrupt long before GW Bush.

The Sahib is so self-absorbed that he refers to himself in the third person.
You obviously have nothing to be proud of within your own culture, so you throw this out here to get a rise out of people? That is very sad and I hope that you get the education that you severely lack.
To answer your question though, I am proud to be an American. I live in a great country where I can be free to do whatever I want as long as it doesn't impinge upon the freedom of others.
In my country, if we disagree with the government, we can say so without fear of reprisal. There are a lot of countries where you can't do that.
We also have an excellent opportunity to become as educated as we want to be. There are libraries in nearly every city and colleges are plentiful.
I don't presume to know where you're from or where you would like for us to believe you're from, but "because of George Bush" doesn't cut it. Even if I disliked the President, that is hardly a reason to be ashamed of being an American.
