A friend of mine was abused by his supervisor in Saudi Arabia while working for a big multinational there. When he complained to the boss of his supervisor, he asked the aggreived person to resign instead of taking disciplinary action against the supervisor. That poor friend of mine went to even top management within Saudi Arabia, but they all kept quiet? why? What remedies are open to this person who has been abused?

While many people think that companies are there to give people jobs, that is incorrect thinking. Companies exist to make money for their share-holders, PERIOD. As far as things like this happening, no matter how large a company is, they still exist of people, and thus you have problems such as this. As for the reaction of the boss, he (or she) was most likely looking at the total ramifications to the company instead of the individuals involved. Thus, if something like this gets out, it would look bad for the company and cause the share price to drop, which means the boss would probably loose quite a bit of money, not to mention the money that the major stock holders would loose. To use an overly used line, "follow the money". No it isn't right, but it is the way that companies really work once you get down to the real internal workings. Actually, the larger the company, the worse this can be. If you really want to avoid this, find the smallest company possible that you can work for, or better yet, start your own. I realize that this goes directly against what most people believe, but in a smaller company, there is actually more concern for individuals. I'll stop rambling now, but I hope things improve for your friend.

5 ideas:
1. Could be a criminal case? If it was serious enough I'd talk to the cops.
2. Otherwise if there an employment tribunal/union in the area, I'd take it to them.
3. The HR department at the company (maybe would have to be the home office) should also be able to help.
4. Request a transfer?
5. Otherwise I'd just get another job. Easier and less stressful, even if it isn't fair. I worked at a company with a toxic evil bully and I decided just to leave as she was poisoning the whole office. Made my life much easier and eventually management saw what was happening (but not before they lost several good people). I just moved on and felt 100% better.

It says you're from India- i ought to say that finally, for Indians, it would not. that would not advise that poverty can't shrink in India for some human beings, yet finally the purpose is to concentration wealth in richer international locations the position there commonly is not any actual poverty (though there can nevertheless be a lack of social help, that's totally straightforward in my united states, the U. S., notwithstanding we are getting a wealthy united states through imperialism). also, notwithstanding they employ some human beings, they count on an unemployed crew of folk to force wages down. If there are 100 those who ought to and ought to do your activity in case you leave, you're literally not likely to spend a lot of time stressful more beneficial wages. those human beings grow to be a reserve pool. So for most human beings, multinational cooperations can't quite remove poverty because they finally count on poverty to keep up themselves. some international locations, like South Korea, grow to be favourite international locations and get an excellent type of economic help, yet there are literally not adequate resources to attempt this for an excellent type of the international. the placement is that for a lot of human beings interior the U. S. and Britain, "maximum human beings" basically skill human beings in a handful of wealthy international locations. something else of the international would not count number. in my opinion i believe that different international locations want to face up to imperialism and be certain out the thanks to create jobs and such themselves in a fashion that would not count on poverty. My journey is likewise that human beings interior the U. S. and similar will under no circumstances flow alongside with it willingly. they have been brainwashed to imagine extra money is the answer to each thing, notwithstanding human beings are turning out to be extra wealth than they make already.

At the multi-national level, it probably is due to whether or not your friend was from that country, same religion, etc... but as within every organization, there are certain workers who can break every company policy yet remain, while on the other hand, you are loyal -- the first infraction, you're out the door. Humans! what can you say.

You didn't say if there were any witnesses to the abuse. If not, then it would be really hard to prove.
