i heard that u-boats had ravenged the gulf of mexico during ww2 and sunk several boats. im wondering if anybody knows anything about them.

Perhaps you saw the doc on that subject on the History Channel, just today. You might want to look on their web sight. Also, since they were the chief targets, research the history of the Merchant Marine during WWII. Good luck

The Germans in World War II, were very advanced and they were in a lot of places people don't know about like in hte New York harbor... In the Gulf they desroyed American shipping to Europe and Asia.
